Happy New Year 2022… but will it be a happy new year? I’m not so sure.
With the way things are going in this world right now, I fear that it won’t be so happy for many people. I hope I’m wrong.
I’ve not written for some time now. The world has weighed me down a bit, and I’ve lost some interest. I’ve also been really, really busy. More so than ever. Where does the time go? It seems we have less and less of it. I suppose that’s true. Our days are numbered, and I’ve seen that firsthand this past month.
Enough gloom. Happy New Year! And damn it… it is happy, aside from things in the outside world that are out of my control. Plus, I’m healthy. My family is healthy. My grandma is healthy (she turned 91 this year!). Good health is so important.
My farm is well. Pigs are ready to head to the butcher. “Chiba,” the old goat, has been their “Nanny” since the day they arrived at the farm. I wonder if she’ll miss them when they’re gone? She turns 10 years old this spring.
And Rabbits are breeding like, well, “rabbits.” I’ve put away a lot of rabbit meat these last two months, and eight more were just born on New Year’s Eve. With the pigs, the rabbits and the chickens I will easily have more than enough meat for a year.
Snow has been scarce so far this winter. At least here it has. Everywhere else seems to be getting plenty of it, along with tornadoes and fires.
Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions? My only real New Year’s resolution this year is to stay positive and happy. ~A
