So, do you remember this photo from my last post, which was like, forever ago?
And then I left you “hanging” as to what the photo was all about…. Any guesses?
Well it’s not a parking lot. Or even a new garden project…
It’s the beginning of (hopefully) a small, but functional 100×100 outdoor horse arena. I’ve been wanting one forever. And ever. And EVER!
Any further progress on the arena is on hold until warmer, drier weather. The person who leveled the area last Fall still has some finishing up to do on the surface before any base gravel or sand can be put down. He said he will be back and won’t forget about finishing my project. But I’m nervous he won’t come back to complete the job. That’s just how I roll – I can’t help but think the job won’t be done. But I really hope he does return and I can get the whole job finished by mid-summer and actually be able to enjoy some riding.
For now, the arena sits under snow or mud at any given time, and the horses can’t be turned out on that area unless its frozen solid, otherwise their hooves could damage the surface.
Spring is on the way. I’m going to just have to wait patiently and see what happens in 2023… ~A
