Chicks and Mead

It’s amazing how fast little chicks grow in the beginning.  Six days go by and just look at the difference in the feathering of this little guy (or girl)!

Then, it seems like you wait forever for them to to grow big enough to roast one.

Or for a hen to start laying her eggs… I can’t wait to see what egg colors this new batch of hens will produce.

I’ve been patiently observing these two gallons of Mead I started at the end of December 2020.

It’ll be another month or more before I can even think about bottling it.  And then I’ll patiently try to let it age for however many more months I can keep myself from drinking it…

It’s January…

Things are quiet here on the farm.  My stash of hay is running low.  The animals are bored.  The septic system needs repair.  I need a new kitchen floor.  I’m fifteen pounds heavier than I want to be…  It’s winter.  ~A

Women are supposed to be 15 lbs. heavier in the winter. I’m sure you wear it well.

I want some of that mead, BTW.
