First Frost of 2019

Full October Moon

Its feeling very “Fall” suddenly.

Last Sunday, October 13th, brought on the first frost of 2019.  Not a hard frost, just enough to remind me of how I don’t really like cold weather.

Frost under a pear tree

I built a roaring fire the night before to get the house comfortable. It was still nice and warm when the morning came.

Frost on the ground

All this chilly air makes me want to cook up a pan of big, hearty, something or another and eat lie a pig. It’s so hard to eat light and healthy meals when it gets cold out. My body is wanting to prepare to hibernate I suppose…

Fall leaves

Last year’s frost came on October 19th and was just a little heavier than this year’s. I hope the winter will be mild.  I don’t mind snow, but I can’t stand when the temperatures are below 25°F.  And the wind... I hate the brutal wind.
