Taxes and Turkeys

A weekend with temperatures only in the thirties, and even more snow.  This is what we have to look forward to for the weekend of the 9th and 10th, of April 2016… Really.

This is what I woke up to this morning…

And yes that is a real turkey standing near the porch steps…

The chicken eggs have been in the incubator for twelve days now.  Next Wednesday I’ll remove both the quail and the chicken eggs from the rotating rack and lay them all flat and still.  Then I’ll run around the house like a mad woman the following weekend, pacing and wringing my hands, waiting for something to hatch.

I would just be so astonished if I actually hatched a little quail!

There is a silver lining in this crappy weekend weather forecast.  I still have taxes that need doing, and what a perfectly good weekend to stay warm inside and get the job done.  ~A
